Strategy games are my favorite, and many people love them too, specially playing them in multiplayer mode. Traditional RTS games are now played at an entirely new level as MMORPG.
But you don't always have to buy these games. There are many really awesome free online strategy games, which are not graphically very great, but have a really cool game play. These games yet simple, give you some great challenges.
Castle Wars 2 is another such game, and no doubt one of the best I have played so far. I like it particularly as it gives you turns to make either an attacking or defensive move.
You have to be clever enough to beat your opponents in this card game. Drawing the right cards will grant you victory, or you have to suffer defeat. You can also try out the multiplayer. If you think you really know the game.
